The second edition of the Behindwoods Gold Medals had a grand launch event last Sunday, 31st of May at Raintree Hotel, Chennai. The main award function will take place at the ITC Grand Chola on the 19th of July amidst leading celebrities of the Kollywood film industry.

Apart from the awards for meritorious acting and technical skills, we have 2 other People's Choice Awards (Male and Female) powered by the Tamil cinema fans, who drive the industry with their undying support and unflinching passion. The 2 People's Choice Polls have been online for the past 4 days in our website with widespread participation from fans. These polls are conducted in the most transparent way possible and the winners of these polls will be awarded with the corresponding People's Choice Gold Medals.

In the Female category, there are four nominees - Samantha, Hansika Motwani, Amala Paul, and Lakshmi Menon. Samantha is leading the battle with maximum votes.
