Yuvan Shankar Raja replaced by newcomers

'Little Maestro' Yuvan Shankar Raja has opted out of the upcoming Vada Curry due to his busy schedule and he has been replaced by newcomers Vivek and Mervin. The producer of this Jai, Swati, Sunny Leone starrer, Dhayanidhi Alagiri has sent out a press statement explaining the reasons for this change and also introducing his new musicians in a detailed manner. A transcript of his letter is as follows.

 

I would like to first and foremost thank all of you for giving us your undue support for our movie "Vadacurry".

 

I would like to inform you that due to Yuvan Shankar Raja's hectic schedule towards the end of last year, we were unable to work along with him for the above mentioned movie, But he has delivered us an absolute mesmerising melody for the same and we are also using that track for the said film. Both of us agreed mutually and felt it was best if we work with another music director for the quick completion of the movie.

 

So at a time when we were looking at going with some other big names in the business, Anirudh Ravichander had informed us that one of his friends who is also his sound engineer was really good at music composing and that we should give him a shot and I would like to use this opportunity to thank Anirudh for introducing us to Vivek Siva.

 

Vivek works along with Mervin Solomon, they are a duo. They both have scored 4 (four) tracks for "Vadacurry" and will be scoring the BGM too. The whole album as such has turned out to be a stunning ensemble of different genres of music. They have proved that they are definitely talents to watch out for. I am personally in love with all the tracks. I hope you would enjoy them as much as I did. The music album should be out very soon. I would be making a separate announcement for the same.

 

Below I am mentioning a brief profile of both Vivek and Mervin. 

 

Vivek Siva ,22, trained in classical music. Learnt the carnatic mandolin and performed with numerous bands in school and college. Also is a music programmer & sound engineer for Anirudh Ravichander on all his projects till date such as 3, Ethir neechal, Vanakkam chennai, Irandam ulagam & Velai illa pattadhari.

 

Mervin Solomon, 23, is a distinguished pianist certified by the London Trinity School. Also a music producer from Chennai, he has scored music for albums in gospel and classical genres. He also freelanced as a programmer in various Tamil movie projects.Has toured extensively with numerous singers across the country.

 

Both of them were part of the band Zinx which was chosen by the Oscar winner Mr.A.R.Rahman.

 

I request each of you to support these young talents in their debut. They are here to stay. Please welcome and support them.
