Kaththi to better Thuppakki in just one week ...

Fox Star Studios, a prominent player in the film production and distribution space in Tamil and all over the South, took up the distribution of Vijay's Kaththi in Karnataka. We had reported yesterday about how Kaththi had set a new Day 1 gross record in Karnataka for a Tamil film, with 2.2 crores. After a solid and strong Day 2, Kaththi's Karnataka gross stands at 3.5 crores now.

A spokesperson for Fox Star Studios is very happy with the response to the movie and says

"Kaththi is rock-steady. In spite of yesterday being a non-holiday the film has held on well. Even against the rains too.

We are expecting it to cross all previous Vijay films in Karnataka after the first 5 days, and also Thuppakki's mark by the end of the first week, to set a new record"

That's some sweet news to the Kaththi team, indeed.
