Naaigal Jaakirathai is one of the sleeper hits of this year, a comeback wagon for Sibiraj. Thanks to Dharan's music and the equally pleasing trailer, the film grabbed the attention. Post the release, the film was appreciated for it's crisp story-line and of course for the involvement of a dog.

Being a genuine dog movie and giving the importance to the the character, audience loved the initiative. Sibiraj was also applauded for his performance in convincingly pulling off the cop role.

Produced by Nathambal Film Factory, the Shakthi Sounder Rajan directed movie might have a sequel. So, Naaigal Jaakirathai 2 in the cards for sure. When contacted for confirmation, the team confirmed the same and said that the sequel will be ready by the end of 2015.
