Actor Sibiraj, fresh from the success of Naaigal Jaakirathai, is going beyond the reel and taking up the cause of animals in real life too. He opens up in an interaction with Behindwoods.

"I am not just a dog lover. I'm an animal lover on the whole. I love animals of all sizes and shapes. With films like Naaigal Jaakirathai, where an animal plays an important role throughout, Animal welfare boards and other NGOs will raise their voice against the movie.

But representatives from 'People for Cattle India' came all the way to meet me and congratulate team Naaigal Jaakirathai. They were extremely happy about the way the dog was positioned and treated on and off the movie. We took special care of the dog and made sure that it never got hurt even when the stunt portions were shot.

'People for Cattle India' is a one of a kind NGO tirelessly working to completely negate the cruelty shown towards cattle. They are on a revolutionary motive to curtail the soon to be held animal sacrifice happening at Nepal called the Gadhimai, where 5 lakh odd cows will be killed and left to rot. I feel proud and happy to endorse their initiative. Through PFCI, I'm taking up "Adopt a rescued dog" campaign. Going beyond films feels so real."
