'Dangamaari' after 'Mersalaayitten'

Nov 05, 2014

Tamil cinema has always taken its chance to make demographic - specific movies, trying to establish the particular landscape or the dialect. There had been lots of movies like Thevar Magan, Virumaandi, Paruthiveeran and the recent Madras, that showed the localized slang to the fullest.

After the recent sensation from 'I' Mersalaayitten, it is Anegan's turn to let out the fashionable North Madras lingo again. Hit-machine Harris Jayaraj who is composing the music is generally known for making songs with starting phrases that can't be spelt and Anegan will have a song called Dangamaari.

The nomenclature of the usage states that, Dangamaari is something like Somari or Mollamari or Capmari and has its origins in Korukupettai (North Madras). It specifically means that, somebody is falsely claiming to have some special skills. So, Dangamaari will be one important song to establish Dhanush's role in this AGS Entertainment production.
