Venkat Prabhu's Chennai 600028 is now an elite global favorite

Venkat Prabhu stormed on to the scene as a truly fresh and different director, with Chennai 600028. This movie was based on street cricket between local teams and also had elements of love, friendship, enjoyable quirky comedy, team bonding and of course some stupendous music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Premgi Amaren.

Now the prestigious British national daily newspaper, The Guardian, has selected Chennai 600028 as one among five of cinema’s most memorable cricketing moments. The other movies in the list are Lagaan, Alfred Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes, Hope and Glory and I know how many runs you scored last summer.
