Just In: Suriya to start his next with a 'new wave' director
Aug 05, 2013After the blockbuster success of Singam 2, the whole industry is waiting for Suriya's next project to commence. His fans are obviously looking forward to his next moves with bated breath.
Suriya had recently expressed an interest to work with the new wave of film makers such as Nalan Kumarasamy, Balaji Tharaneetharan and Karthik Subbaraj. With cult films such as Soodhu Kavvum, NKPK and Pizza to their credit, these young film-makers have already developed a dedicated fan following for their brand of cinema
Nalan is currently the flavor of the 'indie wave' after Soodhu Kavvum became one of the biggest hits of the year. He was rumored to have discussed on a new script with the Singam star and talks were rife that the two would be joining soon for a new film. Now we hear from authentic sources that Suriya has approved the script and that shoots of this film would begin soon, on priority basis, once the project's logistics are worked out.
This is a truly exciting development as a big mass hero such as Suriya is leaning towards a promising young filmmaker. Suriya has always been one who isn't averse to charter into unexplored territories and with a young director such as Nalan on board, the prospects for something path-breaking are limitless. Other details about the cast, crew and the genre are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Suriya's other film with Lingusamy, is still in the scripting stage after the director decided to make some amendments to his script. Once Lingu is done with his script, it has to be seen if Suriya would be working side-by-side on the Nalan project as well as the Lingu project.
