Cinematographer Priyan has been associated with director Hari for a long time now and the cameraman admits that he fully understands the director’s vision. He also revealed that he and the director had decided to give certain sections of the film a different feel. The solution they arrived upon was to shoot in digital, and nearly 40 percent of the film has supposedly been shot in digital.

The segments in Africa especially demanded a different tone and Priyan has revealed that his source of reference and inspiration was the classic ‘City of God’. Priyan also pointed out that unlike the first part which had room for several songs the sequel will be more plot driven and a lot of focus has gone into that. Still there will be three songs which will find its way into the film while the other two will serve as montages.

Singam 2 has come out of the censors unscathed with a 'U' certification is ready for worldwide release on July 5th.
