A movie that pointed towards youth activism and participation in politics, it is credited to be the inspiration behind the formation of quite a few youth parties, the most famous of them being Lok Paritran which seems to have unfortunately disappeared after the 2006 elections. The movie was more about the role of youth in society than about politics itself. Importantly, it pointed towards the chronic ‘brain drain’ issue with many youngsters dreaming of flying, mostly to the USA. Some are of the view that the romantic tracks diluted the impact that the movie could have had. Nevertheless, one of the most inspiring movies of our times.
