Mani Ratnam’s current project which seems to be running from one jinx to another faced its first trial in the form of a title issue. After having decided upon Ashokavanam for the Tamil version and shooting for some time, it came to light that a similar title had already been registered by Kasthuriraja. It was speculated that Mani Ratnam would be requesting Kasthuriraja to allow him to use the title. But that does not seem to have happened and he settled for the same title in both Hindi and Tamil versions - Raavan.
