His political career dates back to the year 1996 and he has been with the two most powerful parties at different times. However, last year he started his own Akila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi and is now part of the BJP led alliance in the state. His party is seeking verdict from Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Namakkal and Tirupur.
