This is one of the most intelligent movies to be made based on an investigation. It dealt with a multi-crore robbery and the CBI being brought in to investigate the case. SPB as the CBI officer was close to perfect. There was nothing cinematic in the way the investigation was carried out. The way Mani Ratnam handled the subject made us feel that this is perhaps the way the intelligence bureaus operate. There were no big fights or chases, only intelligence was at work and that sets apart Thiruda Thiruda.
