Simbu Devan is back to a period flick after the satirical Pulikesi which was set vaguely in the Kattabomman period. Now, the director seems to have shaken off the satirical touch. If reports are to be believed, Irumubu Kottai Murattu Singam will be a cowboy film in the true Western style of yore, reminiscent of Gregory Peck and other Hollywood legends. Tamil cinema has had its share of such flicks, though very few in numbers. Set in the 17th century, it will definitely be a challenge to recreate the era free of roads, vehicles and big buildings.
