Period films are always interesting prospects. They guarantee the excitement of seeing a bygone era come back to life on screen. But, they are not easy to make and that is why we get so few of them. The costs escalate, the art department has to slog to get the right feel and many other factors have to come together. We do have a few films that have successfully pulled it off in recent times, the best of them being Subramaniapuram which brought back the Madurai of the 80s. Perhaps inspired by this, we have quite a few films in the making that will be traveling backwards in time. Let’s take a look at them.
