Both Arindhum Ariyaamalum and Pattiyal were extremely important characters in Arya’s career. Both came under the same director but were very different. If in Arindhum Ariyaamalum he played the adopted son of a locally unquestioned overlord, his antics sprinkled with humor and nonchalance, Pattiyal was the portrayal of a man who thought and acted for himself, was arrogant and ultimately paid the price for his merciless crimes.
