‘Assalt Arumugam actionukku ready aayittan....’ This dialogue spoken by Vivek in Padikkadavan will not be easily forgotten. Said with a stoic expression which defied neither fear nor any anticipation is perhaps one of the best delivered by a ‘dummy don’ on screen. The hairstyle, the highly exaggerated body language, the punch dialogues (said intentionally at all the wrong places) and spoofs on many of Tamil cinema’s famous don characters, playing out all the stereotypes that we have seen over the years; this role was immensely enjoyable. The timing with Dhanush and the rest of the team was also fantastic.
