‘Kaipulla’: Vadivelu
This is one evergreen character by Vadivelu, the head of the ‘Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam’. Though Vaigai Puyal has done many such characters (where there is only loud mouthing about brave deeds), but Kaipulla will be remembered for a long time. Almost every scene that he appears is a laugh riot and all his dialogues were immensely well written and stays well in memory…. ‘usuppu ethi usuppu ethiye odamba ranakalm aakkittanga’, ‘onnu koodittankayya… onnu koodittankayya’ are a couple of them. It is one of the rare movies where one got the feeling that the comedy track got more footage than the actual plot.
