This thriller proved to be an important movie
for both director Vasanth and Ajith. In fact
this was a comeback vehicle for both Ajith
and Vasanth, whose career was taking a slide.

This film launched the career of Surya, who,
later on, worked under Mani Ratnam’s
direction in Ayutha Ezhuthu. “One movie
under Mani sir is like doing ten movies together.
You learn so much”, commented Surya
after the association.
Five star
An innovative casting process advertised on
TV calling for 5 actors to play the lead role
resulted in flooding of portfolios of almost
every aspiring actor in town. They finally
settled for five actors and the pick of the
lot was Prasanna, who then went on to establish
himself as a talent to reckon with.
