The
Tamil girl who seduced Bollywood began her
career as a child artist in the Tamil film,
Kandhan Karunai (1967). Her movies with
Rajinikanth were all major hits, ranging
from Priya, Naan Adimai Ellai, and 16 Vayathinelei.
But the film that really showed them up
as wonderful on-screen pair was Mahendran’s
offbeat Johnny. It also proved a good comeback
film for both of them. The relationship
portrayed in the film between them was gentle
and full of respect for each other. It’s
a pity that this very gifted actress has
retired from the screen. |
