Crafted to perfection, Virumandi was one of the critically acclaimed movies to be released in Tamil cinema. Though the movie was censored heavily by the scissor hands for its gory content, the stunt scene of Kamal trouncing the villain Pasupathy with whatever he could lay hands on was distinctly notable. Especially after Abhirami’s ghastly suicide as a result of subjection to assault. Pasupathy’s son shouting at the background in support of Kamal to kill his own father is the highlight of the scene. Kamal’s close to maniacal expressions, his body language and the filming of the sequence were all top notch stuff. It is not really a fight because there is hardly any opposition for Kamal here, he just runs riot with a sickle in hand.
