The Thalapathy Anthem was released amidst huge army of fans in Chennai today. Ilayathalapathy Vijay graced the event and released the two song album. Commenting on the album, Vijay said, “It doesn’t matter to me about whom the album is about. I would have attended the event anyhow. I’m here to respect the efforts of these people.” Appreciating his fans for supporting him in all his ventures, he said, “I would not call you wonderful people my fans. You are all my friends.”

He also said that he will be honouring the Tamil Nadu 10^th and 12^th class toppers and would be hosting a dinner party for them. He has announced that he would be doing this every year.

The Thalapathy Anthem is an album about actor Vijay and his off screen qualities. Vatsan CR is the album’s creative head and has penned the lyrics along with Dinesh. Amogh has done the rap sections in the album. Gautham has wielded the camera and Lokesh has edited it.
