The audio of Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki was released in a star studded function yesterday at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Gautham Menon, Balaji Sakthivel, Paneerselvam, Parthiban, Pandiraj, Gnanavelraja, P Vasu, T Siva, and UTV Dhananjayan graced the event.

The event was organized in a very creative way. Director Gautham Menon welcomed the crowd with the song Aalaalakanda from the movie Sangamam. He also welcomed every guest present there with a song. He sang Podhuvaga En Manasu to welcome Rajinikanth on stage, Potri Paadadi Ponne for Kamal and Anjala for Suriya. Speaking at the occasion he said, “When I make a film, I don’t mind doing minor changes if the actors can’t do what I imagined. But Prabhu Solomon doesn’t easily give in. He gets from the actors and the crew whatever he has in his mind. He chooses the toughest locations and brings out the best visuals. I envy him for that. I want to go to such locations and work like him in my future films.”

Actor Suriya said, “Hailing from a family of geniuses isn’t just enough. Hard work is the most important ingredient. And for a guy from such a family there will be more pressure. Vikram Prabhu seems like a man who doesn’t get tired of working hard. Fight masters Pandian and Riaz kept praising about Vikram to me and Karthi. My best wishes to him”

Kamal Haasan who has had a long relationship with the Sivaji family, said, “This is my family function and I had to be here. Sivaji Ganesan was a mentor and inspiration not just to me, but to many. Prabhu and Ramkumar are like my own brothers. Prabhu has the fear every parent would normally have. He prays hard so that his son gets a good reception among the audience. But, I’m sure people will love him. I wish him and the team all the luck.

The crowd went crazy when Rajinikanth came onto the stage. He said, “I usually don’t attend functions. When Prabhu invited me for the audio launch, I said I’ll not be able to attend it due to my health condition. Up till yesterday I didn’t have the idea of attending. But this morning I called up Prabhu and said I will attend. It just didn’t feel right to miss this function.”

Speaking at the occasion Prabhu said, “There is a scene in the film in which Vikram holds both the tusks and kisses the forehead of the elephant. Some people, after seeing it said that both the tusks are Rajini and Kamal and Vikram kisses the forehead of Tamil cinema. But I don’t think that’s right. To me the elephant is Ganesan, my father. Vikram is taking blessing from him. I hope people love him.”
Sathyaraj praised Vikram for his hard work and said that Kumki will be for Vikram as Parasakthi was for Nadigar Thilagam. At the end, Kamal Haasan released the audio under the presence of Rajinikanth and Suriya received it.
