AREA POLITICS, FRIENDSHIPS, STUDENT LIFE AND MORE…

Atharvaa is doing the lead in Imaikkaa Nodigal and has also signed on another project titled Othaikku Othai. Debutant director Barnesh tells all about his film.

“I have worked with director Pa.Ranjith in Attakathi and Madras as co-director. My debut film Othaikku Othai will be funded by Dinesh Karthik of Vision I Media who did Aranmanai 1.

Othaikku Othai will be about friendships, romance, fight and anger. It will be a live action film with commercial elements. It is about the events that happen in the life of students in their three years of college life and is set between 2003 and 2005. The premise is Salem and we will be shooting there. It will be a recording of lives in Salem, its adjoining areas, the students there and their culture. The theme is about the area politics and the ego in them. This is one of the reasons that we witness brawls among students.

Atharvaa plays a student while Anjadhey Naren essays the role of his uncle. Thiagarajan plays the don in the film. Atharvaa has changed himself to look like a typical Salem college student in terms of looks, costumes, hair style etc. The heroine in the film will be a college going Christian girl and so we are looking at the various choices. We are talking to leading heroines and will firm up soon.

As regards the technical department, Ramalingam who was the DoP in Visaaranai will be the cinematographer in my film; Justin Prabhakar is the music director while Selva RK is the editor.

We will commence shooting from December last week and wrap around the second week of February".
