TR RESPONDS TO THE VAALU RELEASE ISSUE INVOLVING UDHAYANIDHI STALIN

Over the past few days, there was a big furore that Udhayanidhi Stalin (who is releasing Arya's VSOP on Aug 14th) had a part in the release issues of Vaalu. There was also a negative hashtag wave against him in Twitter, which irked him and drove him to tweet out in frustration. 

 

Simbu's dad T Rajendar met the press earlier in the day to announce that Vaalu is all set to release on Aug 14th as earlier planned. He also opened up on the Udhay issue without taking any names in particular,

 

"It is natural for theatres to give preference to movies from certain leading distributors who have a continuous line-up of releases every year. This is to maintain a good working relationship. We at Chimbu Cine Arts had our last release 3 years back and due to the delays in Vaalu's release, some theater owners particularly in Chennai and few other cities, despite earlier contracts with us, could not allocate space for us now. A few excitable fans misunderstood this and vented out in Twitter. But outside of these cities, Vaalu would have a wide release."
