Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is the heroine of the new Bala film

Bala makes it final and is all set to begin

Feb 12, 2014

Last week, the media was abuzz with news that Shriya Saran was making her grand comeback to the Tamil industry with Bala's next film, based on the Karagattam dance form. Sasikumar plays the lead in this movie and Ilayaraja is scoring the music. It turns out that she had in fact just auditioned for the role and wasn't the final choice.

Now, we hear that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has bagged the female lead role in this movie. She is a trained dancer and made a big impression with her dance moves, in her debut vehicle Podaa Podi. She is a heroine who can speak good Tamil and her looks carry the required nativity. Varu had auditioned for the movie along with few other heroines, including Shriya and has finally nailed the role. The young lady is thrilled as expected.

In another update about the movie, a photoshoot was conducted yesterday (11th February) in Chennai with Sasikumar and actor G.M.Kumar who was also seen in Avan Ivan, participating in the same.
