Jilla actors, Vijay and Mohan Lal contributed their part to the World Environment Day (June 5th). While Vijay planted tree samplings at the US Consulate, as a part of the V Go Green Campaign, Mohanlal did the same at the Leela Palace, along with actor Suresh Gopi.
 

Vijay also presented the “Green Awards” to people who have made outstanding contributions towards protecting the environment. Being the ambassador of the campaign he also unveiled the “Save Green” posters.
 

The campaign will comprise of a number of programmes, including sapling plantation, coastal cleanup, lake restoration and ‘say no to plastic’. These activities have been spread across this week (June 3 to June 9), dedicated to the V Go Green campaign. 

Former President of India, Abdul Kalam also did his bit for the campaign and requested every student to plant five saplings each.
