Maryan has taken control of the charts and the hearts since it released weeks ago. The hit machine, AR Rahman has opened up about the project, directed by Bharathbala.
 

“Bharathbala’s sensibilities are very different from the other directors. He has travelled a lot and met a lot of people. All those have come in as influences in this movie (Maryan),” said AR Rahman about the director and one of his close friends, Bharathbala.

He also disclosed that the film is driven by various topics like the undying love, universal brotherhood and the common emotions people around the globe share.

These are the topics AR Rahman loves to explore, it seems. So, he makes sure that the lyricists create the best lines and in doing so, he occasionally contributes to the lyrics. The Mozart of Madras revealed that the songs Nenje Ezhu and Innum Konja Neram have some of his lines.

He also wanted to work with Dhanush. “Dhanush has an interesting way of writing,” feels Rahman. That’s why the composer made Dhanush write Kadal Rasa Naan. The song was actually meant to be a very small one. But as the story grew, the song grew too. “It (Kadal Rasa Naan) cried for more,” laughs Rahman.
