Hindus target Ameer’s Aadhi Bhagavan

Jan 29, 2013

A new case has been filed against Ameer’s Aadhi Bhagavan. A Hindu outfit has asked for a special screening prior to release to make sure there is nothing offensive.

Representing the outfit, Supreme Court lawyers Krishnamurthy and Duraiselvan met the Commissioner of Police yesterday and filed a petition demanding that the title of the film, Aadhi Bhagavan to be changed.

The lawyers also claim that the title represents the Hindu Gods, Lord Shiva and Lord Vinayaka. According to the statement filed by them the outfit feels the film might have sequences that would insult the Gods in question. Therefore, the lawyers have demanded the makers of Aadhi Bhagavan to show the film to both the lawyers and the Hindu organization, before taking it to the censor board tomorrow.

Aadhi Bhagavan is slated for a February release and ‘Jayam’ Ravi, Neetu Chandra, Ameer, Sudha Chandran, Saiju Kurup and Babu Antony feature in it. Yuvan Shankar Raja has done the music and cinematography by RB Gurudev and Devraj.
