The title of the upcoming Venkat Prabhu ‘diet’, Biriyani, surely raises eyebrows and has people wondering what the film could be about. Some say that the title is inspired by Thala Ajith’s chef specialties on the sets of Mankatha while others believe that there is a story connection to the title.

What’s more interesting is that Biriyani’s one-liner was first proposed to Ilayathalapthy Vijay before it landed up with Karthi. It would have been an incredible high for Venkat Prabhu to have followed up a blockbuster featuring Ajith, with a film featuring Vijay as his next. Nevertheless the film does carry enough promise with Karthi in the lead and the curiosity surrounding the film does hold extremely well for the project.
