Story: First Half – Love Story of Vijay Sethupathi, Ashwin & various characters are shown. Second Half – How these characters are linked with wonderful message oriented climax.

Vijay Sethupathi – He has captured the heart of ‘A’ Center Audience with his earlier roles. But, his role in this movie is completely different from the earlier ones and gives him good opportunity to perform. He has given his best performance in his career, which will reach well among all centers of audience. His acting and voice modulation will be the major reason for success of this movie. His marvelous acting and wonderful message oriented climax confirms his fourth consecutive hit in Tamil Cinema. His dialogue delivery in the movie was fantabulous as usual.

Nanditha – She looks beautiful and has performed well asusual. Audience used to shout “Ppa Pai Mathiri Iruka” after Gayathiri’s role in NKPK. They may shout “Kumudha Happy” while seeing Nanditha after this role.

Ashwin – He has got a performance oriented role in this movie. He gets good screen presence in the first half. But, his scenes & song were quite dragging in the movie. His scenes in the second half were quite good.

Swathi – She makes a comeback to Tamil Cinema with decent role.

Pasupathi – He is one of the most under-rated actor in Tamil Cinema.. His performance in Veyil, Kuselan, Virumandi etc were much better than few of our leading heroes right now. He gets screen presence for only few minutes, but shows his acting potential in those few scenes.

Robo Shankar & M.S Bhaskar as Supporting Actors have performed well.

Music Director Siddharth Vipin has given 2 wonderful songs – “Prayer Song” & “Ding Dong Bellu”, which had been well received among the audience even before the release.
Cinematographer Mahesh Muthuswamy had captured the night scenes well.
Editor Leo John Paul had done wonderful job as the movie travels with various stories and how they are linked forms the climax of the movie. Only few scenes and the duet song in the first half were quite dragging.

Director Gokul, who made his debut in “Rowthiram” had made a strong comeback to Tamil Cinema with IDHABA. Only this movie deserves to be released on Gandhi Jayanthi as it has a wonderful message to the society in the climax. It is the much needed message for the current youngsters. This movie is not yet another Comedy Oriented movie, but it is a comedy movie with various stories & wonderful message (SAY NO TO DRINK). Gokul & Madhan Karky Dialgoues add more value to this movie.

Overall, IDHABA has average first half & brilliant second half with much needed message to the society in the climax. Vijay Sethupathi’s dialogue delivery & scenes will be TALK OF A, B & C Centers.

Rating of this movie – 3 / 5
