Following the music release of the much expected Osthi, remake of the Hindi blockbuster Dabbang, directed by Dharani, the team of the film hosted a press conference on Thursday to give further details. They were obviously delighted at the enthusiastic response to the sound tracks of the movie and looked very upbeat about their product.
Speaking to the press, Mayilsaamy, part of Osthi’s cast said that Silambarasan had taken extra care and effort in all departments of the film; recalling that the actor had been involved in many late night discussions with music director Thaman about the finer details of the sound tracks. Jithan Ramesh, also part of the film’s cast thanked director Dharani for giving a very strong and important role in the film.
Thaman said that the response to Osthi is bound to put a lot of pressure on his future projects, especially the Kalasala item number featuring Mallika Sherawat, which is predicted to be a rage. He said that whenever a composer delivered a hit item number or ‘kuthu’ number, there would be similar expectations from all his future albums.
STR spoke and said that he had carefully watched Salman Khan’s performance in Dabbang and then decided the way he would go about the character in Osthi. He was a bit unsure about how to deal with the scene where Salman had flaunted his six packs. When he asked Dharani the same, the director said that they would cross the bridge when they came to it. But, the media got ahead of the director and brought out news of STR’s possible six pack look in Osthi. This left STR and Dharani with little choice because they did not want to disappoint eager fans. So, STR started working out and has sported a flawless pack of abs in Osthi.
Dharani said that he initially had planned to take his time with Osthi and give a very good product. But, after the start of filming, the flow of things was very good and he ended up wrapping up the film in a single schedule of 93 days and the outcome also has been very good.
With the music on its way to becoming a rage, fans are eagerly waiting the release of Osthi in theatres.
