Rajini was present for the launch of the Indian Chapter of Cystinosis which was launched in Chennai yesterday. Cystinosis is a genetic disorder caused by defective transfer of amino acid cystine which leads to crystallization within the cells and widespread tissue and organ damage. Rajini posed with children afflicted with this condition.
The chapter plans to start programs to provide early diagnostic measures and treatment facilities for those with this disorder. The individuals associated with this venture were grateful to Rajini for his efforts and thanked him profusely. They said that his presence was invaluable in creating awareness for their cause.
