The buzz is that first Rana Daggubati and then STR have been dropped from Vetri Maaran's Vada Chennai and he is hunting for replacements. So when Vetri was seen directing a few scenes with Nakul, there was speculation that the Kadhalil Vizhunthaen actor is doing Vada Chennai.
As it turns out, the shooting was for Naan Raja Aaga Pogiren, a film directed by Prithvi Rajkumar for which Vetri has written the dialogue. He dropped in on the sets and gave in to the request of the team to be the guest director and canned a few scenes. The unit and especially Nakul was delighted with him for being such a sport. Nakul said that it was a wonderful experience to work with Vetri.
