At the third edition of the Norway Tamil Film Festival, held in Oslo over a five day period from April 25th to the 29th, Vishal was honored with the best actor award for his performance in Avan Ivan. Among the ladies, Richa Gangopadhyay was the big winner and received the award for Mayakkam Enna.
A 7 member jury headed by Gloria Selvanathan made the decisions and also selected the feature films and short films that were screened over the course of the event. Films like Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai, Ko, Vaagai Sooda Va, Vengayam, Poraali, Mayakkam Enna, Engeyum Eppothum and Aaranya Kaandam were screened.
