OOZHAM MOVIE REVIEW CLICK TO RATE THE MOVIE

With great powers comes greater responsibilities. Similarly, when you make great films, you will be tied to great expectations.

Director Jeethu Joseph has been telling the audience that Oozham is a revenge drama and not to expect a Drishyam or Memories from it. But the viewers tend to set standards for directors like him and expect something different even from a revenge drama. And it is painful to see writers with such caliber producing average movies.

The plot of the movie is very clear, it revolves around Surya (Prithviraj) and his revenge. The director has followed the same pattern of endless revenge dramas in Oozham. The audience can easily predict every scene as the assassination style is repeated every time with very slight variations. The screenplay is not gripping and the treatment and direction are underwhelming throughout the movie. The only positive is the updated technology used in the scenes.

The performance of Prithviraj and the rest of the cast including Neeraj Madhav, Jayaprakash, Pasupathy, Balachandra Menon, Divya Pillai is good but they seem dimmed by the normal screenplay and usual dialogues.

The cinematography by Shamdat Sainudeen and the editing by Ayoob Khan is good and the VFX scenes are impressive. The music by Anil Johnson has the nostalgic ingredients. Songs are well written and canned.

In total, the movie disappoints anyone who is used to watching crime thrillers and revenge drama as Oozham's story has nothing new to offer.
