Vijay - Friends :
After Priyamanavale, Friends, a Malayalam movie was remade with the same name with Vijay, Surya, Devayani and Vadivelu in the lead role. Directed by Siddique who directed the original version in Malayalam, Illayaraja scored the peppy tunes for movie in both languages. The movie starts with hilarious comedy and ends with portraying the friendship between Vijay and Surya. Released in Malayalam in 1999 with Jayram, Mukesh, Srinivasan, Meena, Divia Unni, Jagathy, Cochin Hanifa in the lead role, the Tamil movie hit the screen during Pongal 2001.
