HYPER MOVIE REVIEW
We would have come across many personalities who are obsessed with someone; it could be their daughter, son, wife or friends. In the same way, this script’s hero loves his father more than anyone and he is over protective about him. He is mentally mad about his father and would go to any extent to protect him. He, in fact, falls in love with a stranger even without seeing her just because, his father likes her. That is his character sketch, pretty weird one might feel.
As the title suggests, it is the story of an energetic, hyper lad who gets into a tussle with a politically influential villain to save his father’s pride. A wrongful, corrupt minister (Rao Ramesh) wants an approval signature from an honest government servant (Sathyaraj) for an unlawfully planned building. Since Sathyaraj refuses to sign, he tries other means to make him do it and that is where our hero (Ram) comes into play.
The whole plot is based on a single signature. Being an extremely powerful minister, Rao has so many ways to make his work done but just because an honest government servant touches his ego, he wants to do it the hard way. This aspect of the film looks very artificial making the core storyline weak.
Ok, we have an overbeaten story, but how different is the screenplay? Are we offered anything fresh? That again is strictly mediocre; it follows the typical grammar that a 90s hit film would carry. But we cannot complain much about the speed in which it travels. Though Hyper is a rehash of so many old scenes put together, the tempo of the film is steady.
Ram does it all to lead the story. He jumps, dances, flies, bashes and breaks everything and anything around. Another neat performance from him, though with the kind of physique that he has, you know it is impossible to do what he does onscreen. He makes it up for it with his effortless dialogue delivery and unique mannerism.
Raashi Khanna is the heroine of the film. Like mentioned before, Ram falling in love with her can never be answered logically, but nevertheless, if you take that cerebral thinking out of the equation, you might enjoy their love portion to an extent. Again, nothing new but not bad either.
