TRISHA ILLANA NAYANTHARA SONGS REVIEW
Review by : Behindwoods Review Board
Album Release Date : Jun 04,2015
Trisha Illana Nayanthara stars GV Prakash Kumar and Kayal fame Anandhi in the lead roles. The film is directed by Adhik Ravichandran while the music is scored by GV Prakash. The album comprises of 6 tracks including a theme music.
An emotionally driven duet with inquisitive rhythm section marks the beginning of the album. G.V.Prakash’s earthly voice is complimented by the breezy vocals of Saindhavi. The string section is amicably balanced with griping flute rendition throughout the track’s progress. A special mention should be made for enigmatic lyrics by Kabilan.
This track attempts to strike an effective balance between Hard Rock to indigenous folk music. It is well equipped with impressive sequencing layered well with riffs and a strange flavor of hip-hop as well. The usage of peculiar electric guitar is done with finesse and makes a decent impact on the overall composition.
The folk reflections continue with this party number comprising of power packed voices of Gana Bala and Anthony Dassan. There is a sublime duel between contemporary rap vocals leading to the age old raw folk music which creates a unique party experience. However, it is the variations in the rhythm section which stands out quite impressive.
It is time for a funky solo with recurring arpeggio base leading to the gripping vocals of Yuvan Shankar Raja. The rhythm section is quite fun filled with entertaining interludes as well. Na. Muthukumar’s lyrics are apt for a peculiar composition of this sort. There is an unexpected changeover in the second interlude which is quite a good move by the composer.
A fun filled song which speaks on the effect of love on youngsters with superior vocals by Pushpavanam Kuppusamy. The overall track has a funniest impact on the listener with uber cool lyrics by Arunraja Kamaraj and a totally contrasting rhythm section with dholak usage. The fresh approach and unpretentious presentation make it an enjoyable hearing.
The album hits the finale with a crescendo like instrumental track well presented with recurring flute, thumping rhythm base and pleasant sounding harmonica. Rhythm section in particular takes a detour with as many variations one can ask for. The Western classical symphony takes over in the middle with ease thereby creating a compelling ambience.,
