Tamil Nadu BJP President Tamilisai Soundararajan met the reporters in Cuddalore and raised another question against Mersal controversy. The movie depicts a scene where doctors are being showcased in a bad light. Tamilisai asked, "If the movie was taken for the welfare of people, then why are you not giving the movie ticket for free or for Rs. 5. If it is for people's happiness then why charge them."
According to media reports, Tamil Nadu BJP’s president Tamilisai Soundararajan said that the movie makers of Mersal have to remove things that create a false impression about the government among the public. She reportedly said that the dialogue about GST has to be removed from the movie and alleged that she would move court if the part about criticising GST is not removed.
