1999 KARGIL WAR

The 1999 war, also known as Kargil war, took place after India launched air strikes against Pakistani-backed forces that had infiltrated Indian-administered Kashmir. The war ended in October 1999, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called upon the infiltrating forces to withdraw, under pressure from the US.
