KAAKKA MUTTAI MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

Dhanush and Vetri Maaran’s National Award for Kaakka Muttai wasn’t a surprise. Their conviction
was right and the film has struck a chord among both national and international. With that, the producers are ready to show their proud production to their home crowd.

Directed by debutante M Manikandan, Kaakka Muttai starring two National Award winning child artistes Ramesh and Vignesh finds its release this weekend, 5^th May, 2015.

“I don’t have much doubt that it will do well,” says the director confidently, in a recent interaction with the correspondent of Behindwoods. He also adds, “This is definitely the kind of movie that will connect well with the Tamil audience. I actually had more worries about international audiences seeing it! Because I wondered how they would connect with a story fully set here [in Chennai] and specific to this society. But, here I am certain this is a film the Indian population will definitely like.”

About the two little stars, Ramesh and Vignesh, the director says, “I first saw them when I was going through the slums taking reference photos of children from those areas, because I wanted kids who looked and acted like them. They were very energetic and talkative. Then, after we saw child actors in auditions I could see that none of them had that same energy that these kids [all of them in the movie] I took photos of did! So it occurred to me – why not just take them?”

This is probably one rare film that you’d surely know even before its release that it will be good. We wish the team great success and fame!
