English Vinglish is directed by Gauri Shinde and stars Sridevi in a central character of a housewife and her attempts at learning the English language to cope up with her anglicized family.
The Tamil version slowly picked up and has now become a favorite among family audiences with multiplexes registering good attendance.
Despite a few signs of ageing, the graceful Sridevi’s acting skills haven’t diminished one bit.

In a mighty comeback, Sridevi takes over the film in a simplistic story of a housewife’s aspirations to improve her linguistics in a language that the world is increasingly cozying up to.
Though the opening day wasn’t phenomenal, Ajith’s cameo and the extremely favorable word of mouth pushed the movie’s prospects and it ran to packed houses over the weekend.
Sridevi’s comeback and Ajith’s entertaining cameo have garnered many eyeballs.
