The year so far has been a bumpy ride at best. As much as 60 films were released in the first half but only a few films managed to pull it off at the Box Office. Many films drowned in the hype and hoopla that was created before their release and few, with skeptical credentials, managed to set the cash registers ringing. Business might not have been at its best in the Tamil film industry, but the first half of 2010 saw a fair amount of variety and its share of controversy to keep the viewer engaged.
