One of the greatest social reformers that Tamil Nadu has seen is Periyar. Nothing much needs to be said about this great man, his life and deeds that endeavored to break all man-made barriers that existed between people. It was perhaps a bit unfortunate that it took so many years for a definitive biopic to be made on the person who single-handedly changed the outlook of his generation and many to follow. His character was said to be the dream role for many a great actor and finally the lucky actor was Sathyaraj and one has to say that he made a fairly neat job of it.
