A supernatural subject that did not scare in the conventional way! No eerie forms, shrieking sounds etc. But, the film did thrill and even scare at times. Eeram was a revelation when it came to supernatural thrillers, breaking away from all previous moulds that had been tried in Kollywood. The scripting, the pace at which the film was edited and the slight blue tone that had been adopted could never have happened without the producer’s consent and blessings and Shankar must be lauded for having the vision to make it happen. And, it was not just Arivazhagan who benefited, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa too rocketed to great popularity for his work.
