Jyothika’s character in Chandramukhi suffered from Multiple Personality Disorder otherwise known as Dissociative Identity Disorder. Ganga was a sweet and docile Tamilian wife whereas Chandramukhi was a Telugu girl who was also an avenging fury and both personalities fought for mastery over the same person threatening her life itself. The condition was dramatized in this film and though Ganga’s cure was brought about by the Psychiatrist’s (Rajini) skill and made for enjoyable viewing it lacked scientific credibility.
