Poor guy (Dhanush) falls in love with a rich girl (Sridevi) and the latter reciprocates briefly for reasons best known to herself. And for the same reasons she dumps him in spectacular fashion for the rich dude her parents have lined up for her. But poor guy decides to drag her to court. Girl has a change of heart and decides to go back to him but winds up getting dumped instead as it turns out, her former lover only wished to make an example of her so that girls with similar attitude problems will think twice before breaking the hearts of fools in love like himself.
