This film was originally titled as Sandiyar and the poster showcased the lead cast wielding ‘aruval’. The Vidudalai Siruthai Katchi slammed the movie for its title and poster celebrating violence and held a demonstration. This resulted in the name change and every poster that came after that had no violent pictures.
