filmdom. Several films manage to irk a part of the
public owing to their content, whether it is good
or bad. Protests, demonstrations and fiery speeches
have been held against the movies, the cast and crew
that have resulted in some kind of publicity for the

Vaanam
The Vaanam team came up with a great promotional
plan of releasing a single audio track and
that was the song Evan Di Unna Pethan written
and sung by Simbu. The lyrics were quirky
and mildly annoying but the peppy music and
Simbu’s voice made the song a rage among
the youth but certain groups weren’t
pleased with the lyrics. A women’s rights
organization based in Chennai has issued strongly
worded statement to Simbu for the chauvinistic
lyrics that demean women.
